Equal Access to Education is a Legal Right

Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Title II of the ADA, schools and universities are required to provide appropriate accommodations — including qualified ASL interpretation — to ensure Deaf and hard-of-hearing students have equal access to education.

Quality educational interpreting goes beyond language — it requires an interpreter who understands pedagogy, classroom dynamics, and the developmental needs of students at each stage. Rose SLI places interpreters with direct experience in educational settings so students and educators can focus on learning.

What We Look for in Educational Interpreters

Educational interpreting requires a unique combination of skills beyond language fluency. Rose SLI selects educational interpreters based on their demonstrated ability to support student learning — not just communicate between languages.

Partnering with Schools & Districts

Rose SLI works with individual schools, charter schools, school districts, and private educational institutions to develop sustainable, reliable interpreter coverage programs. We understand the budgetary and scheduling challenges schools face — and we work to be flexible partners.

Ongoing Coverage

We can provide dedicated interpreter assignments on a semester or year-long basis, ensuring consistency for students and reducing administrative burden for your special education team.

Substitute Coverage

When a regular interpreter is absent, we provide qualified substitutes to ensure there's no gap in student services — critical for compliance with IEP requirements.

Event & As-Needed Coverage

For graduation ceremonies, parent nights, staff trainings, and other one-time events, we provide experienced interpreters on request with advance scheduling.
